Missing reference Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualization.Library

When authoring with the Visual Studio Authoring Extensions and creating a new project for OM2012 add-ins, it sometimes happens that the reference to the Visualization Library (Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualization.Library) becomes unusable.

When this happens you can resolve this by manually editing the .mpproj file beloning to the project:

Open the .mpproj file and find the section shown in the (highlighted ) screenshot:

Replace the section with the following xml code:

<ManagementPackReference Include=”Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualization.Library”>
<HintPath>C:\Program Files (x86)\System Center 2012 Visual Studio Authoring Extensions\References\OM2012\Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualization.Library.mpb</HintPath>
<Alias>Visualization</Alias>
<PackageToBundle>False</PackageToBundle>
<MinVersion>7.0.8560.0</MinVersion>
</ManagementPackReference>

Now reload the project
